The Beginning Feels Amazing
Well… It has finally arrived! We felt like we’ve been talking about it for so long and now its actually happening! For real! We finished up work and although we will miss our colleagues, some who’ve become good friends, we will definitely not miss the work! Sorry to rub it in but… For at least 12 months we will not have to wipe another bum, shower a stinky person, have all sorts of body fluids flicked, thrown or spat at us, no more bedpans or bottles, patient transfers, lifts or rolls. No more foul language hurled at us for doing everything in our power to provide the best possible care to a person. Some might ask why are we nurses? Well despite all that shit we love our jobs and our patients!
Enough about work and onto the upcoming events…
Andy and I will be on our separate ways for a couple of weeks, I’m heading to Newcastle to see my mum, then Sydney to see my Bro, Goulburn for rendezvous with my bestie, Albury to see my Dad’s family and finally landing in Melbourne. This is where Andy will be for the whole time I’m on the road. He’s umpiring in the National Hockey Men’s Comp (Whoop, one step closer to the olympic dream
. We then fly home to Tassie for a quick goodbye. 7th-11th October in Launceston and 11th-15th in Hobart. We hope to as many people as we can please don’t be to sad if we don’t see you. But please if you have any time for a catch up in either places please get in touch! We will have a catch up dinner and drinks in both places so please come along.
We fly out of Sydney on the 16th October to Aukland then direct to VANCOUVER!!!
Those who want to follow this blog as a way of staying touch I will try very hard to keep it as up to date as possible. It may go quiet over the winter due to the lack of events but I’m sure there’ll be something happening to tell you. In the meantime stay tuned for the next update.

Mad and Andy
Hooray. Have fun out there!
ReplyDeleteI'm still going through some visa paperwork for Canada (note of the future: don't live in another country other than Australia after living in Canada if you want to go back. It's confusing). But if all goes well I'll be over there in December or January too. Have fun :)
